Technology and evaluation

Understand the signal before acting on it.

TraceRealAI combines unfamiliar-media analysis with image watermarking. We keep the method, evaluated scope and limitations visible so each result can be interpreted responsibly.

Current scope

What each product analyses.

Format support and evidence depth vary by media path.

MediumProductMethodBoundary
ImagesDetectFace-focused or general-image analysisA rationale is available on the general-image path; face-focused results are label-only.
VideoDetectThirty-two frames sampled across the clipThe current path does not use a temporal model, analyse audio or localise manipulation.
ImagesProtectCarrierSeal image watermark embed and checkImage-only. No public API, asset registry or signed credential layer is included.

Audio-only detection and video watermarking are not currently supported.

Selected internal evaluations

Two models. Two different questions.

These results are scoped to the named checkpoint and local test set. They are not independently audited or whole-platform guarantees.

Detect · General images4,800-image holdout

Held-out image classification.

The selected general-image checkpoint was evaluated on a balanced XPlainVerse holdout. Accuracy varied materially across generators.

86.6%overall accuracy
79.7%synthetic-image accuracy
93.5%real-image accuracy

Scope: one local holdout for the selected general-image checkpoint. These are not face-detector or video accuracy figures.

Protect · CarrierSeal78 test conditions

Watermark recovery under image transformations.

The selected image model was evaluated on 1,000 distinct SA-1B source images. It embeds a raw 256-bit model payload.

97.8%mean bit accuracy
66.0%exact raw payload recovery
90.1%at least 95% of bits correct

Scope: one local image protocol. No watermark survives every possible edit, and these figures should not be translated into a universal guarantee.

Reading results

Keep the claim smaller than the evidence.

01

A detection label is not proof.

It is a model assessment of supported visual signals, not a finding that an event is true or false.

02

A score is not automatically confidence.

Raw outputs and fake-frame fractions should not be read as calibrated probabilities of correctness.

03

A watermark has a narrow meaning.

A found marker means this check recovered a TraceRealAI watermark. It does not prove ownership, origin or scene truth.
